The Windy City!

We had such a great time on our trip to Chicago to see my sister graduate from college! It's a good thing she went to school in one of the coolest cities in the world because it sure made for a great vacation. The whole family got to go together and it was so nice getting to spend time with all of us together with Mel in her city.

We loved getting to meet all of Melissa's friends and having her introduce us to all of her familiar surroundings.

The first night we were there we went with the whole family on one of the Chicago architecture cruises right at sunset. This was my second time doing this and honestly I would go every time I visit the city. Learning about all of the buildings, the design elements of the city, and all of the fun facts is just so interesting and you learn SO much. It brought back lots of art history from college and I loved going right at the start of our trip because that made walking around within the city that much more fun as the trip went on.

We got to enjoy lots of time together walking around the city. There is seriously nothing better than having this guy by my side exploring new places. He is the best traveling buddy.

Our last night my man took me out for a nice dinner on the river and THIS was our view. It was amazing we sat in our own private corner facing the water as the sun set, watching all of the boats go by... amazing.

We stayed at a great location right downtown and had the best view from our hotel room. Also... we used a Sprinkles ATM for the very first time. Life changing. Not only was it the cutest thing you've ever seen, but it dispenses cupcakes. 'Round the clock. 24/7. Seriously, life changing.
Oh and let's not forget the whole reason we WENT to Chicago... to see this girl graduate! We are so excited for Mel to be done with college and to see what is next for her. Whatever it is we know she will follow God and continue enjoying life so bring it on!

Basically, we love the Windy City. Hopefully Mel sticks around for a while, or moves somewhere even cooler, so we can plan another great vacation asap.
