Our New House: Before

Well folks, it's official, WE ARE HOMEOWNERS!! We closed on the house about a week and a half ago and were in there that day already painting and doing some minor work here and there making it more our own. For those of you who don't already know the story of our house hunting adventures for a while there we were considering a complete fixer-upper that we'd gut and remodel and this was the first "move-in ready" house we looked at, so naturally we walked in and fell in love with all of it's updated features and the idea of not having any major remodels on our hands any time soon. We figure that although all of the updates might not be our "style" they are things that can change and adapt over time and we can add our own style to as we go. Our main criteria for a house was a large/open living & entertaining space and that is what completely stole our heart with this house. When the house was remodeled last year they vaulted the ceilings and opened up the living space so when you walk in you're opened up to a great room and also an entire wall view of the backyard, which also helps open up the space more. We love the idea of having the kitchen/living/dining space all opened up to each other but still functioning separately.

We are SO excited about all the potential here for decorating and projects, even amongst all of it's current updates as is. We've gotten a pretty good head start already but I wanted to share the "before" pictures before we get too much further along. These will give you a pretty good idea of the skeleton. Can't wait to show you more!
