Home Tour: Guest Bathroom

You may or may not have caught me mentioning that we bought a house in my last post..... !!!!!!! We are beyond excited for all of the adventures of home owning and cannot wait to get in there and make it our own. BUT a part of us is actually sad to be leaving our little home we've made for ourselves where we're at now... even though we've only been renting we've put a lot of work into making this place a home for ourselves and creating a space together that reflects who we are. We've truly tried to use each and every inch of this place to it's fullest potential and maximize all of it's great features like the back patio. Oh how we will miss this quaint little spot where we've enjoyed many gatherings with great people and good conversation, however I am happy to report our new house comes with a great big backyard full of grass where I know many more gatherings will take place. Of course I set out with intentions to give a full home tour on here and started with the living room (which has changed a bit since then) and I even got to the master bedroom (most of which will be carried over to the new house). I am determined to finish this home tour even if we ARE beginning to pack and move. Mostly because I want to have the photos to remember what our first home looked like, but also because the other areas actually did reach a somewhat finished look and are worth talking about.

With that being said, let me show you our guest bathroom! We've been blessed in this rental to have 2 bathrooms, one for guests and one for us, which has been wonderful for only having to worry about keeping one bathroom presentable. Most of the stuff in here came off of our wedding registry which was so nice to be able to move in and already have almost everything we needed to put together our bathroom. (Of course I'd designed it via photoshop inspiration board beforehand) We went with a somewhat neutral grey/beige/gold vibe with subtle pops of faded color, mainly inspired by the sunburst shower curtain I fell in love with AND the Shabby Chic line bathroom glassware with the gold lids and trim... I wish I would have bought like 8 sets of that when they had it out. My favorite thing about this bathroom is other than the registry items pretty much everything in here we had just lying around the house to accent and decorate it... there are even some meaningful items in here as well which I believe is an important aspect of every space, even the bathroom : )
One day I was trying to figure out what to do with my dried out wedding bouquet (I loved the flowers at our wedding soooo much I want to keep them forever) and I realized the colors sort of worked perfectly in our bathroom so there it's sat for the past year and I think it's made a nice addition.

The cross stitch hanging on the wall is something my best friend Jamie's mom made for us as a wedding present just before we got married. It is so special to me and something I know we will cherish forever, I can't wait to find another spot for it in the new house. And I love the layered towels that add in another pattern.

The framed piece above the toilet is actually a piece of vintage wrapping paper one of my friends wrapped a wedding shower gift in. I loved it so much and thought the colors went perfectly in here that I decided to frame it. You can't just throw away vintage wrapping paper!! It's been such a fun piece to have in there.

We have loved this charming little bathroom and loved even more that it was so easy to keep clean/maintain (since we only needed to clean it before or after we had company). PS I'd be lying if I said we didn't use that shower behind the curtain for storage... you'd be surprised what you'd find back there : )
