Patty Cake, Patty Cake, Baker's Twine

(sung to the Patty Cake rhythm)

Patty cake, patty cake, baker's twine
Why are you so difficult to find?
We went to Michaels, Frys, and even Trader Joes
Where oh where to find you ain't nobody knows!

... I wrote this depressing ode to baker's twine before we found the find of the century! Baker's twine in the TARGET DOLLAR SECTION! Of all places. Seriously?! We'd officially given up our search to find cheap baker's twine, the only options left were to order it online and run the risk of not having it in time for Christmas or to spend our life savings on a roll from fancy schmancy places like Crate & Barrel. Neither one of those seemed like good enough options for us. Somehow we ended up in the Target dollar section and that's where I saw it... a little tiny package for just $1. Needless to say we bought every package we could find.

You all know I choose a signature wrapping style for my Christmas gifts every year, and you all know it ALWAYS involves postal wrap, always. This year I decided red & white baker's twine was going to be my thing. I also decided to use some left over cardboard scraps to make my own glitter gift tags. You cannot beat brown paper packages tied up with string... oh wait, yes you can, brown paper packages tied up with string WITH glitter gift tags.

Joel and I are having SO much fun with all things Christmas this year... shopping, wrapping, hosting, praying, hanging... I love making holiday traditions with him and love that he shares my passion for silly little touches like baker's twine that make the holidays so much more fun and personable.

I wish I'd known you were looking for it. I'm in the target dollar section at least once a week...totally could have saved you the trouble of trying all those other stores. Ps...it's pretty fantastic of the Target dollar section to carry it, don't ya think?
