Fall is upon us!

Well, not really. But at least it's October so we can pretend, right? I must say that the fact the highs are in the low-mid 90's next week has me rather excited and prepared to bust out the cardi's, scarves, cider, and boots when the time is right. But in the mean time I can still crank down the A/C and pretend like it's fall INSIDE my house! And that's just what I did this past weekend. I spent some time busting out our small supply of fall decorations, purchasing and decorating some pumpkins, and sniffing the fall scented Scentsy I had running 24/7. It sure puts me in the fall mood, even if the afternoons still feel like it's the middle of July around here.

We got this little entry table off of Craigslist for a few bucks and it's exactly what we've been looking for! I've wanted a little table/decorative pot/plant stand out on our "porch" for a while now but it was so difficult to find something that wasn't in our way out there and high enough off the ground. I decided to search on Craigs with a "maximum price" of $15 (because I was not about to spend good money on this) and wa-la! We love the "non-cheesiness" of it and of course the combo of the wood/wrought iron. I plan on constantly changing this up for the seasons/various events we host.

The wicker pumpkin we bought at Goodwill several months ago on a 50% off day... Holiday decorations are the BEST to buy on GW 50% off days throughout the year. The sections are usually packed and you get stuff like this for like a dollar! Seriously.

The black pumpkin I painted with chalkboard paint (don't know why I didn't just use black spray paint) and wrote on with chalk. Easy and fun!

Inside I went a bit calmer because let's face it, we'll more than likely be looking at these decorations in some form or another for 2 months so I didn't want anything too bold or busy or that would take away from the normal "vibe" of our home. This year I am obsessed with WHITE PUMPKINS! It is taking a lot of self control to not go to the store right now and buy them out of ALL white pumpkins. I would have bought 53 if Joel would have allowed it. But I will settle for these 3 little guys and 1 biggin (maybe more). I DREEEAAAM of having a real mantle one day, and one day I WILL have one, but for now our little kitchen counter overlooking the living room will have to do. I am re-using the "Welcome" banner from our wedding because... why not? It's burlap, it's lace, and I didn't want to make a new one. "Welcome" works, right?

So there you have it! Our simple and fun fall decorations... or at least the start of them : )
