My Birthday Staycation!

Well, this last weekend was easily one of the best weekends of my life. A couple of months ago Joel & I decided we wanted to plan a Staycation at a local resort because 1. Summer rates in AZ are cheap and 2. It's just like going to California, only less driving and again, cheaper. My two birthday wishes this year were a lazy river and a massage... the JW Marriott at Desert Ridge offered both of those things included in a package along with a dinner voucher for one of their restaurants and a room service breakfast voucher. CHECK!

We checked in on Sunday afternoon and walked in to a beautiful SUITE upgrade completely on the house just because it was my birthday... we had a huuuuge room complete with a living room, two TVs, sitting area, and a glorious massive bathroom. Anyway we spent the majority of the afternoon at the lazy river until we were just exhausted from all of the relaxation, so naturally we came back up to the room just to lay in the huge, plush, white bed full of a thousand pillows. We dined like kings with the 3 course meal that came with our package and then we retired to the room for the rest of the night to, of course, watch The Bachelorette finale.

Monday (my actual birthday) consisted of sleeping in, floating in the lazy river entirely by ourselves, the most amazing and relaxing couples massage, and more pool time. It was... THE life. As amazing as our little get-away was I will say that my favorite part of our weekend BY FAR was the time I got to spend with my husband, the greatest man on the face of the earth. I really do consider him a gift in my life, therefore no birthday present could ever amount to what it's like just being in the same room as him (not even the gorgeous new purse his sister got me for my birthday- and that's sayin' somethin'). I am SO grateful for this fun, relaxing, and uninterrupted time with him.
