Savers Finds

Last night J & I went to Savers with a few specific items in mind, we only left with one of those items AND about a few other good finds. We were extremely pleased with what we came out with.

First we found these black elephant bookends that we neeeeeeded for our makeshift backwards bookshelf we're working on. I know I haven't posted full pictures of our home (coming SOON I promise) but I will show you our "bookshelf" above our sliding glass door. I put that in quotes because, well, it's not exactly a bookshelf. I sort of just started putting books up there one day and it worked so I kept going and it kept working! There is some sort of support paneling up there that the books rest on perfectly, but little does everyone know (well I guess know everyone does know now) that the books are just resting on the blinds. It's amazing how putting those books up there really warms up our living room, a difference we definitely wouldn't have been able to tell unless we tried it. LOVE IT. NEED MORE BOOKS.

Next up is this awesome berry wreath I totally scored. Craziest thing... I told Joel "Oh before we leave I want to look for some sort of wreath that I can re-do for Valentines Day", you know how thrift stores always have those random wicker/twig wreaths lying around. Well SCORE, all of the sudden I spot this beauty in the fake flowers section for a mere $4. And best part about it... NO WORK NECESSARY! It's already the perfect colors and style and it can totally double for a Christmas wreath come December. I had totally planned on making a DIY style wreath but this one takes the cake.

We also picked up these wonderful mustard yellow decorative pillow shams for our bed! The shams that came with our duvet are the same stripe fabric and I don't like how it's stripe on stripe, especially the same fabric. So I've been looking to buy some decorative shams that will go and as always where better to find them than at Savers?! And for only $2.99 a piece, yes please. Of course these went straight into the wash and will only be used as decorative shams, not the ones we rest our heads on : )

Oh Savers, how I love thee.

Great finds! Love the pillow cases and wreath. Can you explain why your books are put up backwards and how you possibly find a book you are looking for when you need it? Just curious.
