Let's Hear it for the Boy!

Why yes, this IS one of my favorite songs. And yes, it DOES remind me of Joel.

God is GOOD! Joel finished with his audio production degree earlier this year and has been looking for a new job in that field for a loooong time now. We gave ourselves a realistic deadline of the end of summer for him finding a new job in the A/V field, and if nothing had come up by then we'd begin pursuing other job opportunities or increases of income at his current job. But, like I started out writing this post, GOD IS GOOD and He knows and cares about the desires of our hearts because he provided the perfect job for Joel and He did it just before we were about to "give up". Seriously the end of summer timeline we were going off of this job could not have been more stretched but seeing how it is all playing out is totally more of an affirmation that God's timing is perfect.

Joel snagged the job of the lead event/banquet set-up supervisor & A/V technician at a local country club. He is beyond excited to have a job that allows him to do the A/V work he is passionate about, but also to explore and be challenged with other responsibilities that add to his experience. He thoroughly enjoys his fellow staff and working for such a great company, not to mention his new stomping grounds are gorgeous and oh-so-nice. Of course he loves the responsibility this job has given him thus far and every day I've talked to him he has done something new and different that keeps him on his toes... a major change from the routine and monotonous tasks at his full-time Starbucks job. It truly feels as though this job was made for him, and every day we are both affirmed in this being the Lord's plan for him right now.

Every day I am SO impressed and proud at how hard of a worker my husband-to-be is. He is so committed and good at whatever he sets his mind to, and it is such a good feeling to feel safe & provided for by such a dedicated and determined man. During this transition time he technically has 3 jobs now, not because he has to or because he should, but because he can and he just does. He sees a need for something and just finds a way to meet it, whether it be for pay, recognition, or none at all. These past few days I've caught myself thinking all.the.time: "Gosh that man is going to be SUCH a good husband, how in the world did I get him?!" No joke, my exact thoughts. I hope I get to be asking this question for the next gazillion years as he continues to impress, romance, and provide for me. Sigh.
